About Our Great Pyrenees:
They all are Great with Kids and Great Livestock Guard Dogs. We just Love them, they are the Best all around Dog. They also like to go in the Water when it is Hot.
How they Guard Livestock from Preditors :
The Great Pyrenees dogs sleep in the daytime to conserve their energy. But the more they sleep during the day, the more they're working at night. When nighttime comes, up the dogs go, over the fields and hills. Its like, "Okay, we're on duty now." I hear them barking their warnings, staking their claims, making sure that any coyote that might come into the field knows they're there. The sheep sleep at night. The coyotes come and try to kill them, but the dogs roam at night -- that's the equation.
